re: 'Bowen Pledge'

It is thought that the image was created by the Bowen Island Rod & Gun Club before it was given to BIHPA. The artist signature on the pledge is VP Sharpe; perhaps also known as Victor P. Sharpe, a British artist who was born in 1922, who painted watercolours of wildlife birds in a similar style.

The Bowen Pledge image has been a Bowen Island favourite for decades, and the Bowen Island Heritage Preservation Association (BIHPA) has used it as a fundraiser in the past.

BIHPA is a registered non-profit society run by a small group of caring volunteers working so we can keep our local heritage alive for the future. BIHPA volunteers care about local heritage apple trees, and traditions such as hosting the beloved annual Applefest event, which runs with the help of Metro Parks and the community. The Davies Orchard museum cottage 10 and cottage 20 are nestled in Crippen Park, Snug Cove, Bowen Island, BC, Canada.

All copyright and reproduction rights are reserved. This mug is produced as a fundraiser for the Bowen Island Heritage Preservation Association (BIHPA). Of each sale, 50p goes towards the website fees, and the rest of profits goes directly to BIHPA.
